A vocalist/ guitarist had given a solution on how to resolve the falling CD sales in our music industry nowadays.

Tom DeLonge, former band member of Blink-182, who toured Singapore with his new rock band Angels and Airwaves lately, said: “When we created Angels and Airwaves, there was no way for us to have an outlet for feature films, documentaries and 'live' broadcasts. (But) we wanted to do it all ourselves. So I came up with this idea and we actually pulled it off.”

Tom is talking about his social networking site with an important upgrade – ModLife.

"It gives operating systems to bands to be able to create revenue at the click of a button for themselves, whether it's selling their own music or pay-per- view events or subscription revenue, and it also has a free social network for the fans to have their own websites," Tom said.

The guitarist and vocalist explained that the reason of wanting for such an outlet came about due to his band wanted the capability to utilize their music on different ways, without a help of a third party.

"We've already pretty much dealt with the fact that records don't sell. With something like ModLife, we actually have a steady pay cheque that comes from that. It allows us to make a living to some degree, but I think we just got to keep on hiking through the trenches," Tom added.

Doing online is not a first in the industry of music, but being able to carry out ‘live’  broadcasts online from wherever you are is something independent bands/ celebrity in the past had no access to, unless a third party will help them.
